Honestly, who knows if it’s intentional or not! Either way, I’m kind of in love with JLO’s new found admiration for her Latino roots. Digo, it’s not like La Lopez has ever evaded her Hispanic heritage – she did get her big break in Selena after all – but as of late it seems Jenny is becoming less and less from the “block” and more and more from the “barrio.” It started with her production of El Cantante, then her album in Spanish Como Ama Una Mujer, next there was her collaboration with Marc Anthony on Q’Viva The Chosen, and most recently her latest video for Follow The Leader, a collaboration with Wisin & Yandel, which yesterday made history by being the first video to be released via Twitter. ¡Nada tonta La Jenny from the Block!
The fact that she is the most mainstream Latina artist in the industry at the moment makes her contributions to our cultura all the more significant. And for the record, yes, I like this video much better than the other one for her single Dance Again!
