Because My Mexican Mother Said So: This Is How You Make Mole!

Certain things just make you undeniably Mexican.  Mexican as in bien mexicanote where you couldn’t be anything else if your life depended on it.  Watching my jefita make her famous mole from scratch is right on top of that list.  It inspired me really… to share my own experience as a mexicano, by showing you what exactly makes me feel like a “real” Mexican on a day to day basis.

I just happened to show up when my mom was right in the middle of the moledera.

I offered to help, pero ya saben, she was already in a groove and casi ya terminaba anyways.

Instead I busted out my camera and started taking pictures.

She gave me the ingredients, but I didn’t write them down.  Maybe in a future post we’ll have to make the recipe together and share it with everyone too.
