Now that school is back in session, our kids will have plenty to learn in the classroom. At home there are plenty of things we can teach our tweens and teens too. Personal hygiene, I think, is one of the best things we can share with them, especially because it just creates good habits. In Texas the summers are especially a good time for these lessons. It’s so hot!
Boy has already started school, and he’s not really into getting grooming tips from mom anymore. So I enlisted myself to help my nieces instead! If you’re in the middle of back to school shopping what I’m about to share might be especially of interest for the young tween and teen girls in your household. Some of the grooming essentials on your list should definitely include facial scrubs and cleansers.
My niece is returning to middle school this year, and as you all know schools are ground zero when it comes to germs and bacteria. I myself remember having a really bad habit of chewing pencils and the tops of my pens in class. Don’t ask me why, but when I would take a break from writing or completing any other schoolwork on my paper, I would tilt my head and run whatever writing tool I was chewing on at the moment across my face. It was so gross, but it was my way of dealing with my thoughts and concentrating. So I certainly know first hand the importance of washing my face at least once a day. Now as an adult I always look forward to giving my face a stress relieving deep cleanse at least twice a week.
That’s what I recommended for my niece as well.
I know I won’t be the only woman in my family having the conversation about personal hygiene with my niece. And there are plenty of other topics to talk about when it comes to young girls, but I’ll leave some of those conversations to the rest of the matriarchy.
Clean & Clear made it so easy to teach her about washing her face correctly. I especially like that with the Deep Action 60 Second Shower Mask she can do a facial deep cleanse in the shower. And just FYI, this stuff leaves your skin feeling very smooth. At first I thought it might leave my skin with very little moisture, but I’m happy to report that was not the case.
Having personally tried these products myself, I think you should definitely give them a try – for you or your teen/tween. The daily Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser is a product I purchase every winter because of its citrus smell.
As I told my niece, washing your hands is great. Especially after visiting the restroom or right before eating lunch, but washing your face is just as important.
I didn’t have anyone teach me about cleaning my face. I kind of learned by accident! My two eldest sisters always kept several items on the restroom counter and one day I just kind of went to town with all of their products. I still remember slathering on a cooling mask and immediately after taking soaked-filled pads to my face feeling it burn on my skin. Unpleasant to say the least, so I am more than happy to be able to share my insider tips to healthy skin with my niece now.
I think she enjoyed the deep cleanse too.
