It’s always fun to get a first look at the Houston Auto Show. Before this massive event opens its doors to the droves of Houstonians waiting for the annual event to take place, for the last couple of years I’ve been lucky enough to be among the first to get a sneak peek at the latest and greatest the automotive industry has to offer. As you can imagine, vehicle manufacturers go all out to captivate the attention and curiosity of consumers and industry experts.
For me, it’s pretty much like being a kid in a candy store.
I like the excitement of big reveals, with blasting music, flashy lights, and passionate speeches. It’s always a little over the top and that’s what makes it fun. I also enjoy just walking the showroom and checking out all the new and innovative designs at my own pace. You can stop and have a conversation with one of the many vehicle experts on hand to tell you about their specific make and models. You can grab a cup of coffee or a snack, and usually you will walk away with quite a few goodies from the various booths that are eager to share their branded content with you.
My favorite part of the Auto Show, though, are always the cars of the future. I think that’s because they tap into the wonder and curiosity that so many of us attach to the idea of cars in the future. Will we have flying cars? Will we ever have truly autonomous cars? And how much faster will these cars be in 10, 20 or even 50 years? It really is fascinating to think about, so when you can get a glimpse of where auto makers are investing their own curiosity and creativity, it’s a lot of fun.
This year, the Houston Auto Show has once again invited me to come back for an advanced preview of what they have to offer. I said yes and am already making a checklist of the things I want to see.
If you’re in the area and want to check out the Houston Auto Show too from January 24 to 28, 2018, make sure to enter the following giveaway that the Houston Auto Show is coordinating. It’s a pair of tickets to the show, along with a $100 gift card, as a grand prize + several more pairs of tickets to the show.
Have fun, and stay tuned for my favorites from the Houston Auto Show!
