Spring in Texas is all about the wide open spaces! We barely get a winter and some years we don’t even get much of a fall season at all. This year, for example, it’s only April and we’ve already been experiencing a pretty severe drought across the state. One minute it’s cold. The next it’s hot enough to fry an egg on your forehead. En serio… in Texas the randomness of the weather is just something you have to get used to.
Pero if you ask my mom, Anjelica’s mom or anyone else with a green thumb they’ll also tell you Texas weather is perfect for gardening. This spring we’re especially looking forward to making some much needed improvements in our back yard. I won’t say that either one of us are huge gardeners by any extent of the word. Al contrario, we do much better with garden furniture and anything else that makes our yard look and feel more comfortable for entertaining and spending time with family. Barbecuing fajitas is a huge pastime in Texas!
So desde luego partnering with the Home Depot Garden Club to make the most of our outdoor spring improvements this year just seemed like a no brainer. We’ll be completing and sharing several spring projects with the help of the Home Depot in the coming weeks. I’m really hoping we can do something a little more large scale like putting together a storage shed in the back yard. We don’t have one of those right now. And really need one!
You can also become a part of the Home Depot Garden Club and take advantage of some of the awesome discounts and tips they will be sharing with all of us as we move forward. Membership is completely free and by joining you will automatically get over $300 in email exclusive savings each year. Other perks include $5 off your next garden purchase of $50 when you sign up, access to 8 new projects to help you #DigIn to spring, monthly to do lists and how-to videos, among various other membership exclusives.
What inspires you? What improvements are you looking forward to making around your garden and home this spring? Do you have a green thumb?
Stick around for the fun. A ver como nos va con estos proyectos. It would be fun to see your projects along the way as well.

In 2008 and 2009, with the downturn in the housing market, The Home Depot announced the layoff of several thousand associates, as well as the closing of 54 stores nationwide, including the entire EXPO Design Center chain.^-^:
